Jacuzzi, the most widely recognized name in whirlpool and spa hydrotherapy, is first and formost an illustrious family name. The Jacuzzi brothers started a tradition of innovation in the fields of aviation, and agriculture, and actually gave rise to a new industry in their home hydrotherapy products. The modern Jacuzzi premium spa is the result of these pioneers who developed over 250 patents in the fields of pump, aeration and water jet technology.

Innovative, hard-working and family-oriented, the Jacuzzi brothers came to the U.S. in the early 1900s form Europe. Making their mark in aviation with the first enclosed-cabin monoplane, they went on to use their knowledge of hydraulic systems to revolutionize the agricultural industry by creating the first submersible pump.

When the 15-month-old son of the youngest Jacuzzi brother was stricken with arthritis, the brothers designed and aerating pump that could ve used in a bathtub at home to provide pain-relieving hydrotherapeutic treatments.

Roy Jacuzzi incorporated jets into the sides of a tub to invent the first self-contained, fully integrated, portable hot tub, known today as the "Jacuzzi" hot tub. This spawned and industry were now over a hundred spa manufacturers try to play catch-up with Jacuzzi.
